Sorry if there was any tag, message or anything that seemed like I ignored. I really appreciate the thought(s).
I’ve seen all my results now. I’ve fulfilled all the necessary requirements; signed all that needs to be signed, just waiting for all the formal ceremonies and all. I can definitely blog all I want without any slight feel of guilt. Feels so good š
Better than the past few months when I still had to deal with:
1. Completing my hospital practice (in different sub fields)
2. Turning in an acceptable dissertation – evidence based research work with a suitable patient group
(I even had to source for my own patients, it wasn’t funny)
3. Writing the state licencing exams
– 100 theoretical questions with 71% as the least possible score.
– Oral exams – Perhaps to be sure that you know what you did during the theoretical exams š
– Practical exams – Randomly you’re allocated to a hospital. It could be in any of the sub-fields. You don’t know the hospital (or what kind) you’ll be sent to until you get there for the exam. So you just have to be well prepared to handle any kind of case that may come your way. From Traumatology to Neurology to whatever. You have a couple of minutes to get to the hospital after you find out the hospital you’re sent to, You get there, a patient is randomly selected for you. You have to examine the patient, describe the patient’s condition; aetiology, symptoms, prevalence bla bla just call it time for another oral exam. Draw a treatment plan and treat the patient – time to put all that knowledge to work.
4. Plus thesis defense
It was like a continuum; you have to make it in one section to be able to proceed to the next. And we just had one chance each for the licensing exams or if you mess up in any of the parts, you’d have to start the process all over again later. It’s like you’re done with one, and you’re like “oh thank God, on to the next stage”.
It’s not been easy at all but I’m so happy I’m done with all of that and glory to God, I can now say I am a licensed physiotherapist. All the studying and sacrifice was definitely worth it.
You guys will see more of me now, at least for a while until duty calls.
I’m having a nice long, well deserved break.
God is good š
Love always
